Released 7th August 2020.

A poem I wrote that didn’t make its way onto the project:

I used to bite my lips to work the source

this silence finds you bite the source of words
provoke the tongue to make the unheard heard
the life that's left is scarce so stakes are high
obsessed by that which we will always hide

your shallow heart submerged until awash
with thirst for something red to kill the hush
traverse the sea-bed, darkness all around
your species will respond to any sound

tormented by the lies of promised love
a horn couldn't even guide you through the fog
rejection came to this internal uproar
so silent yet you pray for even more

Tests

‘We need a voice to call across the water, to warn ships—I'll make one… I'll make a sound that's so alone that no one can miss it…’

— Ray Bradbury, The Fog Horn [1951]
